History

Long back in 1975 with some enthusiastic Homoeopath, social workers of steel city and with some of employee of Rourkela still plant dreams come true the existence of Utkalmani Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Rourkela in middle of May 1975 as private establishment where Dr. Bhagirathi Mohanty as secretary of Governing body and Dr. Ramakrushna Das as principal. The 1st batch students got admission where the course was 4 & ½ yrs D.H.M.S. and affiliated with State board of Homoeopathy, Bhubaneswar, Odisha and continue till 1982. Meanwhile the 5 & ½ years course introduce and affiliated to same state board of homoeopathy, Bhubaneswar, odisha. Subsequently the B.H.M.S. Course again affiliated under the Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Burla in the year of 1984 where 1st batch students appear 1st B.H.M.S. examination under Sambalpur university and permanently affiliated to Sambalpur university in year 1992-93.

In the year 1994-95 pursuance of Govt. of Odisha, Dept. of Health & Family Welfare, Resolution no. – AHIXM 36193/1644/H dated 18th April 1994 the managing committee of the college transferred the management of college and hospital to the Government along with all its teaching, non teaching and hospital staffs. The transfer deed was signed between then the Principal (Prof.) Dr. Ramakrushna Das for on behalf of the Utkalmani homoeopathic medical college & Hospital governing body and Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Bhubaneswar, odisha
